The Gospel: God, Man, Christ, Response (A Tract)

God & Creation
There is one true God who is the holy, just, and good Creator of all things.  We were made to glorify Him and to enjoy Him forever.

“Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne; mercy and truth go before Your face.” – Psalm 89:14

“You are worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power; for You created all things, and by Your will they exist and were created.” – Revelation 4:11

Man & Sin
However, we have all turned from our Creator God and sin against Him.  Because we have sinned, and because God is holy and just, we are guilty of eternal judgment before Him.

“Then the LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.”
 – Genesis 6:5

“Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness.” – 1 John 3:4

“Because of these things the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience.”
Colossians 3:6

Christ & Salvation
Christ Jesus became like us, yet without sin, so that He could save us from the punishment due our sins.  He bore the judgment in the place of sinners and rose from the dead in victory to bring us back into fellowship with God, that we may glorify and enjoy Him forever, as we were created to do.

“For He [God the Father] made Him [Christ Jesus] who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.” – 2 Corinthians 5:21

“For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive by the Spirit.” – 1 Peter 3:18

“Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” – Philippians 2:9-11

Repentance & Faith
God calls on all people to repent (have a change of mind regarding their sinful ways) and to believe in the gospel for the forgiveness of their sins.

“[Jesus said], ‘The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand.  Repent, and believe in the gospel.’” – Mark 1:15

“He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.” – John 3:36
